Ambra Table Black

The new series of light sculptures called Ambra combines volumes of ancient stones and aluminum. The center of attention is the Mexican stone "Volcanic Tuff", which consists of minerals, glass and volcanic fragments expelled a million years ago during severe eruptions. The fragments on the geometric surfaces are testimony to these explosions and movements. The contrast between the porous textures and the smooth dark red surface underlines the studio's contemporary focus on traditional materials and techniques. The connecting components between the stone sculptural elements and the aluminum parts come from intensive research that combines unique handmade shapes with industrial pieces.
